Thomas Clement is an inventor, entrepreneur, and the Founder of Acroventions Laboratories, where he continues a lifelong mission of transforming ideas into practical innovations. With more than 75 patents to his name, he has built a distinguished career rooted in engineering excellence, prototype development, and disciplined execution from concept to product.
A Legacy of Innovation
Before founding Acroventions, Clement spent more than three decades as the Founder, President, and CEO of Mectra Laboratories, Inc., a medical technology company focused on the invention and manufacturing of advanced surgical devices.
Under his leadership, Mectra developed products used in minimally invasive surgery and other specialized medical applications — a legacy of proven innovation and execution that now stands as the foundation for the broader work ahead.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University — a rare combination of technical expertise and human understanding that shapes his approach to innovation.
Born in South Korea during the Korean War, Clement was later adopted and brought to the United States. His story reflects resilience, determination, and leadership — and an unwavering drive to build, create, and lead.
He is also the author of Dust of the Streets, an autobiography of his journey as an adopted Korean orphan and the experiences that shaped his life and work.
Today, through Acroventions Laboratories, he continues to inspire the next generation of inventors, entrepreneurs, and changemakers — proving that innovation is most powerful when paired with purpose.
